In Ukraine, there is still a risk of illegal border changes by Russia. After all, under the cover of the so-called military exercises, there is an increase in military potential.

This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Tetiana Kovalchuk during the All-Ukrainian Forum “Ukraine 30. The security of the country.”

“The Kremlin's undisguised aggression forces our state to mobilize and defend state borders,” the deputy minister said.

Tatiana Kovalchuk noted that the basic document on the protection of state borders remains the Integrated Border Management Strategy for the period until 2025, which was adopted in 2019.

“The provisions of the Strategy already have practical results. This includes the introduction of a four-level system of control over the stay of foreigners on the territory of Ukraine, the introduction of a system of risk and border intelligence, international data exchange, joint patrol and control at the border with our European partners,” the Deputy Minister noted.

Tatiana Kovalchuk stressed that on the basis of the analysis of risks in the border area, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Fiscal Service have formed possible ways to neutralize them.

“We have identified an urgent need to strengthen the ship and boat component of the State Border Guard Service with modern equipment and strengthen the maritime border units. Together with the strengthening of the Navy, this will become a deterrent to the aggressor,” she noted.

Recall that the Ministry of Internal Affairs is currently implementing and also plans to launch several large-scale projects this year.
