Territorial defense and police training continues in Sumy
Today, townspeople on Independence Square in Sumy had the opportunity to observe how joint training of territorial defense fighters, police, military, representatives of other operational structures take place. According to the scenario of the exercises, participants of criminal armed formations tried to seize state authorities. Terrorist fighters and police officers gave the conditional attackers a proper rebuff.
The exercises were attended by the commander of the ground forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky and the Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Yulia Laputina. High-ranking officials highly appreciated the training of the personnel of the units and the coherence of their actions.
Further training continued outside the city. Here, territorial defense fighters and policemen tended the vehicles and found a conventional weapon in one of them.
The attackers were promptly arrested. According to the plan, the training will last a few more days.
“Joint training of the police, military and other law enforcement structures was useful for everyone, - noted the deputy head of the GUNP in Sumy region Mykola Khudenko. - In particular, the police officers, performing the tasks assigned to them, additionally learned and “polished” the previously acquired skills to detect and neutralize armed criminals offenders, detaining and escorting violators. Such measures are necessary because the people who see them understand that in the event of terrorist or military aggression there is someone to protect them.”
