Today, April 10, within the framework of the Unified Aeromedical Space, the EU-145 Eurocopter helicopter transported a patient with a polytrauma resulting from a traffic accident from the city of Brody, Lviv region, to the Lviv City Clinical Emergency Hospital.

After the helicopter landed at the hospital airstrip, the victim was transferred to doctors for qualified medical care.

Recall that in Lviv region there is a sanitary brigade of the Aviation System of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on an EC-145 helicopter with a medical module, which provides emergency assistance to the population of seven western regions.

For reference: the Ministry of Internal Affairs in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and thanks to the support of our French partners - Airbus, revives sanitary aviation, which until now existed only theoretically. Already at the first stage, at least 7 million Ukrainians will be able to get the fastest possible access to medical care in situations that threaten their life and health.

Since April 1, a pilot project has been operating in the Lviv region - these are 7 regions: Lviv, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Volyn, Rivne, Ternopil and Chernivtsi regions. And from May 1, the Kiev region will be added, which will provide assistance to Kiev, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv regions and the city of Kiev. Today, two helicopter bases are fully ready for operation - in Lviv and Kiev. Further, the system of aeromedical evacuation will cover the whole of Ukraine.

The aviation system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will deal not only with medical issues, but will also be involved in rescue operations and extinguishing fires. 57 Airbus helicopters - H145, large Super Puma and maneuverable H125, as well as domestic Mi-8 and Mi-2 helicopters will be on duty. In addition, Antonov and Diamond aircraft will be involved.

In addition, yesterday, April 9, within the framework of the Unified Aeromedical Space, a helicopter of the State Emergency Service transported a patient from the most remote mountainous area of Lviv region to the medical institution of the regional center.

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov said that on the joint initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Health in Ukraine, the aeromedical evacuation system is being restored.
