In the Kherson region, 912 families who find themselves in difficult life circumstances are under the watchful eye of juvenile police officers. In the Oleshkivsk territorial community, such families are helped by youth prevention workers, the community police officer and the children's affairs service. They regularly visit families with children and do not just monitor the situation in order to identify their existing problems, but try to help in solving them in a timely manner.
During another preventive raid in Kozachi Lager village, a juvenile police officer together with a community police officer and a representative of the children's affairs service visited two sisters living with their grandparents. Parents of girls are deprived of parental rights. The police made sure that the children are now being brought up in the right conditions. Inspectors handed over small toys and bright backpacks.
- The task of the police, together with the social services, is to guide parents on the path of correction and further support them, help to give up bad habits. When detecting violations of the detention and upbringing of minors, juvenile police officers conduct preventive conversations with their parents and be sure to give them some time to eliminate the shortcomings. And working with children in such families, their comprehensive support, protection and assistance is one of the main tasks of juvenile prevention workers, - said the head of the Department of Preventive Activities of the Kherson police Vyacheslav Shinkarev.
The task of juvenile police officers is to prevent crimes, to help such families, to return children to a happy and safe childhood, and not to document the consequences. After all, the further fate of children depends on the timely detection of existing problems.
