In ODUVS 135 graduates received diplomas and from now on will serve in the ranks of NPU

Today, July 03, the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs held the release of police officers and their dedication to defenders of law and order.

To support, congratulate and share joyful moments with graduates who are about to receive a diploma of higher education, their families, friends, relatives and honored guests of the university gathered. Young police officers are on the threshold of a new life. This is an incredibly exciting and long-awaited event for them.

Today's holiday was opened by an impressive performance of the drummers of the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs.

The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine, after which the participants honored the memory of the military, law enforcement officers and volunteers who died defending the independence and territorial integrity of our country with a minute of silence.

So the long-awaited moment came - the awarding of diplomas to graduates.

The first diplomas and the initial special rank of “senior lieutenant of police” were received by excellent students.

Their dedication to defenders of law and order was carried out by the rector of the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs, police general of the second rank, Vyacheslav Abroskin.

Diplomas with honors were presented to young officers by the Head of the Department of Preventive Activities of the National Police of Ukraine Police Colonel Igor Babich.

The academic distinction on graduation from the university was presented to graduates by the acting head of the GUNP in the Odessa region, police colonel Alexander Ganzha.

The awarding of diplomas is always a remarkable event, because it is not only the final stage of training, it is the summing up of the work of teachers and cadets, the solemn recognition of the results of their joint fruitful work.

Years of study flew by almost unnoticed, and here came the long-awaited day when the young police officers were handed the coveted diplomas.

The right to award diplomas and initiation into law enforcement officers of graduates who were awarded the officer title “lieutenant of police” was granted to members of the Academic Council, deans of faculties and guests of honor.

Today, 135 graduates of the university received diplomas and from now on will serve in the ranks of the National Police of Ukraine.

Rector of the University of Internal Affairs Vyacheslav Abroskin addressed a welcoming speech to graduates of Odessa State University of Internal Affairs, colleagues, veterans, parents and guests of the event:

“Our university is the oldest institution of higher education of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with its own history. Despite its almost 100 years of age, it does not for a minute reduce the positive dynamics of its development. So, today the university employs 30 doctors of sciences and professors and more than 150 candidates of sciences and associate professors. The result of their fruitful work is the fact that today 27 graduates have received a diploma with honors.”

“Your duty is to protect the citizens of our country, to respect and protect human rights and freedoms, the honor of the state and to carry with dignity the high rank of police officer — a graduate of the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs,” the head of the university added.

Further, for exemplary training, active participation in the scientific and public life of the university, skillful application of the acquired knowledge during the performance of official duties and on the occasion of the celebration of the National Police Day of Ukraine, three graduates of the university were awarded valuable gifts — watches.

Today, the graduates of the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs were congratulated by the Head of the Department of Preventive Activities of the National Police of Ukraine Colonel Igor Babych: “Almost a century of experience in training law enforcement officers, experienced and professional personnel, a powerful educational and material base, an unusual climate, ethnic color, centuries-old the historic color and heritage of the famous city combined, really allow the training of highly qualified police officers and this is without exaggeration, since now we are facing practically a quarter of the personnel the composition that completed the training, not only successfully, but also with a red diploma. And I congratulate you personally - yesterday's cadets, and now - our colleagues, who have chosen a really difficult path - the path of a law enforcement officer, which is very responsible. But I want the words “Serve and Protect” to be not just a slogan for you, but a philosophy for your future life and work.”

The temporary acting head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odessa region, Police Colonel Alexander Ganzha, addressed the attendees with a welcoming word: “Today you are starting a new stage in life, leaving the walls of the university to become part of a large family of defenders of law and order. I wish you an easy start and successful implementation in a difficult, but very important profession, worthy of carrying the title of police officer and faithfully protecting people's lives. The police of Odessa region are waiting for you. We believe in you and have high hopes for you.” Also, thanks were given to the most diligent graduates from the head of the GUNP in the Odessa region.

The commander of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Rear Admiral Alexei Neizhpapa, addressed those present: “What does a person need to feel happiness? You need the most important feeling - a sense of security. What does it consist of? This is the security of religions, security in economic terms, the security of the word, the protection of the democratic values of the state. But this feeling of security depends on you. The security of the person on the street, at home, and you have to give that feeling to them. This is your decision, you chose it when you just came to Odessa State University of Internal Affairs.”

Bishop Athanasius of the Odessa and Baltic Orthodox Church of Ukraine congratulated the solemn release of the police officers, after which he held a gracious prayer and consecrated the graduates.

On behalf of parents, Tetiana Fareniuk, a representative of the parent committee, addressed the graduates: “I want to thank, first of all, the management and teachers of the university, because you deserve special respect and words of gratitude. Thank you for your understanding, professionalism, wisdom and ability to work with the younger generation. We sincerely wish our dear graduates to be at the level of the high conditions of modern life, not to lose their opportunities, to always be confident in their success and achieve their best victories.”

Graduates also shared their impressions and emotions on this holiday day. Thus, Vadim Burban, a graduate of the faculty of training specialists for pre-trial investigation bodies, noted: “Today I want to express special gratitude to the teachers who have been with us for such a long period of time, to our course leader, who has become a truly second parent for all of us. I would like to express my special gratitude to the management of the university for decent conditions of study and assistance in all our endeavors.

I would also like to thank the rector of the university for his guidance and the experience transferred to us, as well as the organized meetings with really interesting people. The university has given us a lot, first of all, it is knowledge that will help us in further service, it has given us friends, but personally the university has given me much more...”.

But unexpectedly for everyone, Vadim dared to take a decisive step, getting on one knee, made an offer of his hand and heart to his beloved girlfriend, who did not hesitate to answer “yes”.

All those present, holding their breath, watched the incredibly touching event and congratulated the two lovers with applause. We wish the happy couple happiness, boundless love, mutual understanding and mutual respect! After all, today, in addition to mastering their dream profession, they are one step closer to creating their own family.

An exciting moment for all those present was the first officer's waltz.

The celebration ended with a farewell ceremony with the university flag and the passing of a solemn march.

Today, words of congratulations to the graduates were also heard from family and friends, senior colleagues and teachers who came to support the young police officers on this exciting but extremely important day for them.

We sincerely congratulate graduates on successful graduation! We wish to use and multiply the knowledge gained at the university, great achievements and successes in professional activities, as well as confidently walk the roads of life!
