The Ministry of Internal Affairs took part in the meeting of the Permanent Ukrainian-Bavarian Commission
Today, October 7, within the framework of the 12th meeting of the Permanent Ukrainian-Bavarian Commission, which took place in an online format, the Director of the Department for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Ruslan Fufalko moderated the work in the group “Justice, Security and Law Enforcement Agencies”.
He stressed the interest of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in deepening cooperation with the Bavarian side, in particular, through cooperation between the expert forensic centers of Ukraine and the forensic and technical institute of the land department of the criminal police of Bavaria, police cooperation (in the field of road safety, ensuring public safety and order, combating cybercrime, etc.), in the field of prevention and mitigation of the consequences of disasters and natural disasters, development in Ukraine of the potential of volunteer firefighter wives, training of pilots of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Ukraine, etc.
Noting the rich Work Programme of joint activities with Bavarian colleagues, formed on the basis of the results of the 11th meeting in 2019 in the city. Nuremberg, Ruslan Fufalko noted that, unfortunately, it was only partially implemented due to restrictions caused by the spread of the coronavirus in the world.
He also announced the intention of the Ukrainian side to invite the State Minister of Interior of Bavaria, Mr. Joachim Herrman, to Kyiv in order to hold a meeting with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky and to sign the Joint Declaration on Intensification of Cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and Bavaria, immediately after the completion of coordination procedures for the draft document.

The legal basis of Bavarian-Ukrainian cooperation was the establishment of the Permanent Bavarian-Ukrainian Working Commission in 1991, which operates to this day, promoting the exchange of experience, achievements and knowledge.
The Commission consists of separate working groups that develop different areas of cooperation and approve the Work Program every 2 years. As of today, the projects are implemented by the departments of law enforcement and justice, agriculture and forestry, economy, education and science.
