Divers of the National Guard are trained in the water area of the Kiev reservoir
In the period from November 22 to December 03, 2021, a training meeting with specialists of diving training of the Northern Kyiv and South Odessa Departments, the OSCE of the 3057 NGU military unit, as well as the Training and Combat Center for Special Actions of the International Center for Training Units of the National Guard of Ukraine is held in the Kyiv region professional skills are enhanced by more than 40 diving specialists.
Techniques of movement when swimming at a distance of 1000 m and 2000 m, orientation under water in conditions of poor visibility, swimming as part of a group when meeting with “enemy” divers, methods of fighting underwater and searching for underwater means of sabotage.
The main tasks of the units of the OZSP of the National Guard, which specialize in diving training, are anti-sabotage protection of hydraulic facilities, water areas, anti-terrorism, special actions on water, that is, in general — protection against sabotage and terrorist threats associated with the aquatic environment. It is not the first time that diving units of the National Guard participate in this type of assembly.
The swimmers themselves say that these trainings are necessary for the coordination of units and the exchange of experience regarding the tactics of actions during the performance of service-combat and combat tasks.
According to the head of the meeting Colonel Ivan Marishchak, the main goal of the training meeting is to achieve combat coordination, endurance and exchange of experience among the diving groups of the National Guard.
It should be noted that diving groups in the National Guard of Ukraine have been functioning since the beginning of its creation. Much attention is paid to modern technical support and continuous improvement of the skills of swimmers. Therefore, every year the diving groups of NGU participate in various domestic and multinational exercises, in particular “Sea Breeze”.
