This was announced by the Deputy Minister of the Interior today, May 27, during a working meeting on the summing up and presentation of the recommendations of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.

“As a result of the work of the 65th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women, recommendations have been developed to further protect and promote women's rights. In turn, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is ready to consolidate efforts and take part in the implementation of these measures to prevent and protect against any forms of violence,” said Kateryna Pavlichenko.

The Deputy Minister also noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs intends to improve policies aimed at eliminating all forms of discrimination, violence and sexual harassment.

“Our activities are aimed at strengthening and developing the direction of ensuring human rights and creating the right conditions for protecting society from violence, discrimination, manifestations of intolerance and any other violations of human rights,” said Kateryna Pavlichenko.

From March 15 to 26, 2021, the Ukrainian delegation took part in the 65th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (UNHCR).

The event was attended by representatives of UN member states, UN structures, non-governmental organizations from all over the world.

The priority theme of the 65th session of the CSG is “Ensuring the full and effective participation of women and decision-making in public life, as well as the elimination of violence to achieve gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls”.

The topic of the review was the empowerment of women and the connection with sustainable development.
