During the year, the units of the State Emergency Service restored more than 300 properties in the Donbas
Since 2015, rescuers have been helping to restore housing in frontline areas in Donbas. This year was no exception. The units of the State Emergency Service from different regions of Ukraine systematically go to the frontline settlements to help. Since the beginning of this year, 300 emergency personnel and 48 units of special equipment have taken part in the reconstruction of damaged housing in Donbas. Despite the dangerous working conditions, they managed to rebuild more than three hundred private houses and critical infrastructure facilities
Despite the fact that last year a ceasefire was declared in the area of the PLO, pro-Russian militants do not stop shelling Ukrainian positions. It is not every day that the headquarters of the Joint Forces Operation reports violations. These attacks do not pass without a trace, especially for people living in front-line settlements. Military-civilian administrations are constantly receiving appeals for damage to private houses as a result of shelling.
To date, hundreds of houses remain in Donetsk region, which have suffered significant damage as a result of enemy shelling. Not all residents are able to repair their homes on their own, so government agencies often provide assistance. This year, construction materials for repair work were purchased at the expense of the material reserve of Donetsk region. Citizens receive assistance free of charge.
