In order to reduce the number of fires in natural ecosystems, together with representatives of forestry and law enforcement agencies, the rescuers of the State Emergency Service carry out comprehensive work on prevention and prompt response to such extraordinary events, which annually cause numerous damages to the natural fund of Ukraine. To do this, they arrange special firefighting training and patrol the resting places of citizens in forest areas.

Thus, in Donetsk region, rescuers took part in joint tactical and special exercises of management bodies and forces of the territorial subsystem of the Unified State Administrative Service of the region on preparedness for actions in conditions of occurrence of fires in forest massifs and natural ecosystems, which took place on April 13 near Raigorodok village of Mykolaiv city territory community of Kramatorsk district. According to the idea of the exercises, a fire broke out in the forest. Representatives of Donetsk Regional Directorate of Forestry and Hunting took steps to identify the fire site by means of video surveillance. Foresters were the first to arrive at the scene and started extinguishing the fire, followed by the involvement of the fire and rescue units of the Main Directorate and the development of compatible practical actions to extinguish the forest fire in an emergency situation at local and regional levels. Within the framework of the exercises, the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Donetsk region alerted and collected the personnel of the Donetsk Regional Garrison of the RS CZ by the signal “ZBIR-ACCIDENT” with the introduction to the operational calculation of the available backup equipment and the practical deployment of the consolidated fire rescue squad of the Main Directorate with assignment to a designated area of concentration.

In the Kherson region, there was also a practical development of joint actions on the elimination of conditional forest fire. According to the tactical plan, a fire broke out in the forest area of the Zburyiv forestry of the Holopristan forestry after the rest in the forest of unidentified persons who left the fire unextinguished. All forces and means of Holopristan, Oleshkivsk and Velykopanovsky forestry farms are involved to extinguish the fire. But as a result of the gusty wind, the fire quickly spreads through the forest litter. Therefore, it was decided to attract additional forces and means of units of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of the region.

In Zhytomyr region, in turn, rescuers continue to conduct joint preventive raids in order to prevent fires in natural ecosystems. In particular, the specialists of the State Emergency Service, together with representatives of the environmental inspectorate, patrol police and the media conducted a joint preventive raid in one of the favorite recreation places of Zhytomyr residents — the city Hydropark.

At the same time in Kyiv region, rescuers continue to fight against palia. So, last week, rescuers together with media representatives went to patrol the territory of the Irpin region. They began their raid from the burning sites of peat bogs, where burning continues every year, caused mainly by the human factor, burning garbage or a thrown cigarette butt. Only when the quadcopter was lifted into the sky by rescuers, the burning of grass flooring near human lands was detected. As it became known later, an elderly woman who just wanted to burn garbage from her yard was a likely hotbed. When rescuers arrived, the grandmother and several neighbors were already trying to put out the fire with improvised means, but the wind gusts turned out to be so strong that firefighters had to be called. Representatives of the National Police imposed a fine on the citizen. This time, the fire was eliminated in a small area. Drones will continue to patrol the territory, this form of palia detection is currently the most effective.

In general, preventive work is carried out on an ongoing basis from the beginning of the fire hazard period and will continue until its completion.
