Ukraine and Italy continue bilateral cooperation in law enforcement — Denis Monastyrsky

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine noted that our state highly appreciates the partnership with the Italian Republic, and the law enforcement agency hopes to deepen bilateral cooperation.

Denis Monastyrsky said this during a meeting with Benedetto della Vedova, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy.

“Italy's non-recognition of the illegal annexation of the Crimean peninsula and its firm conviction in the steadfastness of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine is of paramount importance to the Ukrainian people. At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine is considering a number of joint commercial projects proposed by the Italian side - the purchase of specialized rescue equipment - fire lifts for the SSNS, as well as the joint production of rescue vessels for the SSNS and the DPSU,” said Denis Monastyrsky.

The head of the law enforcement agency stressed that police cooperation remains an important issue of bilateral relations.

Benedetto della Vedova, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, thanked Denis Monastyrski for the meeting and promised to help speed up the process of ratification by the Italian Parliament of the Agreements on Police Cooperation and the Exchange of Driving Licences.
