Employees of the structural units of the Metropolitan Police, together with the servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine, went on enhanced duty in order to ensure public safety and order during events with the mass participation of citizens.

According to previously submitted applications, mass actions were announced today in the central part of Kyiv, in particular under the administrative buildings of state authorities. In order to prevent any offenses, law enforcement officers, including dog handlers, explosives technicians and dialogue police have tightened security measures at the locations of the events.

Before starting activities in their places, explosives will inspect the territory in order to identify dangerous and suspicious objects. In addition, at the filtration points, the police will carry out preventive measures and selectively check the belongings of the participants in the action, in order to prevent objects that can harm others from being brought to the places of accumulation of citizens. In case of aggravation of the situation, law enforcement officers can restrict the access of citizens to certain territories. We ask you to be understanding about enhanced security measures, because this is necessary for the peaceful conduct of the planned actions.

In case of movement of participants of events, the movement of the column will be accompanied by law enforcement officers. In this regard, it is possible to restrict traffic to individual streets in the center of the capital. Therefore, we ask motorists to plan their routes in advance, taking into account the above information.

We appeal to representatives of the media to be careful when covering events at events and in case of dangerous situations — to seek help from the police.

We emphasize that police officers will act exclusively within the framework of current legislation and official powers. According to Article 39 of the Constitution of Ukraine, citizens have the right to assemble peacefully, without weapons and to hold meetings, rallies, marches and demonstrations. At the same time, law enforcement officers will immediately respond to violations of law order and stop any manifestations of illegal actions, and bring the perpetrators to justice. Therefore, we call on the organizers and participants of the events to adhere to the declared peaceful format of the action, without violating public order.
