In Kherson, police officers exposed a “sleuth” who carried out criminal influence and set up the sale of drugs in a correctional colony
In Kherson, employees of the Department of Strategic Investigations in the Kherson region, together with the investigators of the regional head of police, under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office and the force support of the special unit of the police KORD, detained a group of persons who established a channel for the supply and sale of drugs under arrest found on the territory of the correctional colony. The criminal group included 5 convicts and a medical worker of the institution.
The police found that one of the convicts, who in the criminal environment has the status of a “spectator”, spread criminal influence and organized a channel for the supply and sale of drugs to the territory of the institution among the prisoners. In his criminal activities he involved the colony's medical worker, who received drugs at the post office and carried them to places of imprisonment. For this, the woman received a monetary reward. Other members of the criminal group packaged and sold drugs among the convicts, collected money and were responsible for filling the so-called “thieving community”.
At the places of residence of the defendants and in their cells in places of detention, the police conducted 7 searches, during which they found and seized marijuana, mobile phones, bank cards, “rough” records with information about customers and profits from criminal activities.
Currently, the nurse of the correctional colony is detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Open criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 255-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Establishment or dissemination of criminal influence” and under Part 2 of Article 307 “Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues” of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Violators may face punishment in the form of imprisonment for a period of 6 to 10 years with confiscation of property. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
