In Vinnytsia, the project of a safe space for schoolchildren “Office of the police” was started
Today, May 13, the Head of the Main Department of the National Police in Vinnytsia Oblast Ivan Ishchenko and the Mayor of Vinnytsia Sergey Morgunov signed a Memorandum of Cooperation and Partnership aimed at improving the safety of children and preventing child crime. Within its framework, the first pilot project in Ukraine “Police Office” was presented, aimed at protecting children from violations in the children's environment. It will start on the basis of 24 Vinnytsia Gymnasium and will later be introduced in other general educational institutions of the Vinnytsia territorial community.
The memorandum provides for the cooperation of the parties in solving within the competence of the most acute and urgent problems in the children's environment, timely response to negative trends, improving the quality of police services in the field of youth security.
The head of the preventive police of the region Igor Volokitenko presented the pilot project “Police Office”.
Its goal is to create new methods to combat bullying and cyberbullying, as well as to form modern approaches for the development of legal culture and education of children on the basis of an educational institution with the involvement of modern leaders who enjoy the respect of children.
The police officer has a separate office equipped with everything necessary for working with minors.
The head of the police of Vinnytsia region Ivan Ishchenko noted that the juvenile police officer will work with children using a variety of approaches — conversations, trainings, webinars, game forms, etc.
- I want to emphasize that this is a pilot project in the state, and thanks to the support of the city council, we can be the first to implement it to protect our children from bullying, cyberbullying and other negative phenomena,” said the head of the GUNP.
He thanked the Vinnytsia City Council for supporting such initiatives and stressed that the joint efforts of the police and local authorities will allow to achieve significant results in preventing negative phenomena in the children's environment.
In turn, Vinnytsia Mayor Serhiy Morgunov noted that every fifth Vinnytsia resident is a minor and for the Vinnytsia community the implementation of youth policy and protection of children's rights is a serious priority. He stressed that it is important to unite the efforts of parents, schools and police to achieve the common goal — the safety of children.
