Within the framework of the operation “Carpathians — 2021” the guards continue to serve together on the border of the state
The operation aims to prevent and counteract the illegal movement across the state border of illegal migrants, goods and cargo, in particular using unmanned and small aviation. On the initiative of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the servicemen of the 50th Regiment named after Colonel Semen Vysochan of the National Guard of Ukraine together with the Chernivtsi Border Detachment are taking part in Operation “Border 2021”.
Guardsmen serve as part of joint patrols, as well as control posts on certain routes.
“For the third time, together with the border service staff, we are effectively serving on the state border of Ukraine. During this operation, we acquire skills that may be needed during the service of public order protection, in addition to this, we provide,” says reserve commander Captain Vitaly Dzeba.
At this time, the operation has just begun, but there are already results, so recently the soldiers of the Krasnoilsk department of the Chernivtsi detachment near the border with Romania discovered a Mitsubishi Pajero SUV and people unloading packages from it.
Noticing the law enforcement officers, the unknown people rushed to flee, and the soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine joined the persecution. Dangerous maneuvering offenders damaged the official vehicle of the border guards. Border guards used weapons to stop the vehicle. The car of the offenders managed to be detained, but unknown persons escaped.
A foreign-registered Mitsubishi SUV and 22 packs of cigarettes were delivered to the border department and the competent law enforcement authorities were informed. Activities are underway to search for persons involved in the specified event.
The joint activity of the participants of the operation is aimed not only at the detention of the executors at the border, but also at the detection of all participants of illegal schemes, including the organizers, as well as the identification of places of accumulation of goods, places of stay, employment of illegal migrants, facilities for the production of counterfeit products.
