In the Pechersk district of Kiev, operatives detained a woman who stole UAH 1,200,000 from the office of a private firm
The intruder is a former employee of the enterprise, who penetrated the premises with the help of duplicate keys. For theft committed on a particularly large scale, a woman faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The police received a report of theft of money from an office on John Paul II Street. The investigative and operational group of the Pechersk police department left at the specified address.
The director of the marketing services office informed the police that over the weekend money disappeared from the safe - 1 million 200 thousand hryvnias. Thanks to video surveillance cameras, employees of the criminal police department established the person involved in this crime.
She turned out to be a 41-year-old former employee of the firm. After the dismissal, the woman gave all the keys to the premises to the employer, but as it turned out, she made duplicates for herself. On weekends, when no one was in the office, the woman entered the room and committed the theft.
At the place of residence of the accused, law enforcement officers conducted an urgent search, during which they seized the stolen money and keys.
According to this fact, the investigative department of the Pechersk police department initiated criminal proceedings of Part 5 of Art. 185 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to twelve years with confiscation of property. The issue of notifying the defendant of suspicion of committing this crime and choosing a preventive measure is resolved.
