From December 20 to 24, targeted training seminars on the implementation of pre-trial investigation and the possibilities of forensic psychological examinations in criminal proceedings on criminal offenses committed with the participation of children were held. They were attended by about 250 representatives of the investigation and inquiry units of the National Police, prosecution and justice bodies from all regions of Ukraine.

The initiators of the event were the Human Rights Monitoring Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Office of the Prosecutor General, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the National Police of Ukraine with the assistance of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine.

These trainings took place at the National Academy of Internal Affairs with the participation of the best coaches — representatives of the scientific and pedagogical staff of the Academy, experienced specialists of the Department of the Prosecutor General's Office and practical psychologists.

Participants who completed the training were given name certificates. This achievement in the system of appropriate training of investigators, investigators, prosecutors and participants in the justice system is extremely important in building child-friendly standards of justice. After all, it is these specialists who play a decisive role in ensuring justice. That is, justice that is accessible, timely, appropriate, child-centered and age-appropriate - when the child's right to a fair trial, the right to participate and understand the proceedings, the right to private and family life, and the right to inviolability and dignity are ensured.

The training is useful for all professionals who work directly with children in contact and conflict with the law and in general for all stakeholders and will contribute to the establishment of child-friendly justice.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine is grateful to the UN Children's Fund UNICEF for their comprehensive support in organizing this event.

Collaborative training has become an essential platform for the exchange of information between law enforcement officers and more effective communication in order to effectively ensure the best interests of children and have increased the sensitivity of relevant specialists to the investigation of criminal proceedings involving children.
