National Guard held a conference on preparation for participation in international exercises “Rapid Trident-2021”

A planning conference on the procedure for preparing the Rapid Response Brigade unit for participation in Ukrainian-American exercises “Rapid Trident” was held at the International Center of NGU in Kyiv region in the village of Stare, with the participation of representatives of the Joint Operational and Tactical Group of the Armed Forces of Canada in Ukraine (operation “UNIFIER”) -2021".



During the conference, the issues of synchronization of actions of the Ukrainian and Canadian sides were considered. The coordinated training procedure will include conducting a number of courses:
— in engineering (mine safety); — training the battalion headquarters in the decision-making process according to the NATO standard (MDMP);
— preparation of the company management for decision-making according to NATO standards — the procedure of troop management (TLP);
— tactical course medicine (assistance to the wounded in combat conditions) — tactical training; — preparation for combat in urban conditions (URBAN OPS); — special training in



cartography, navigation and terrain orientation.

According to the officer for cooperation with the National Guard of Ukraine from the operation “UNIFIER” Captain Hugh Purdon, about 19 foreign instructors will be trained. It will take place in collaboration with National Guard instructors in order to ensure that the coordination of training is as effective as possible.

“The focus of the preparation will be on the exchange of experience between the Canadian side and the Guards, which will allow them to adopt NATO standards and adapt them to the threats that NGU troops encounter in eastern Ukraine, while achieving operational interoperability with NATO. At the same time, it will allow Canadian instructors to learn the experience of the participants of the OSCE,” said Captain Hugh Purdon.
After this training, the unit of the NGU Rapid Response Brigade will participate in the multinational training “Rapid Trident-2021”, and will continue to use the knowledge and skills they have gained during performance of service and combat tasks for the intended purpose. The guards thanked the Canadian side and exchanged wishes for further cooperation.
