Soldiers of the Rapid Response Brigade of the NGU and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine received certificates of passing the course on tactical assistance to the wounded in combat conditions (TSS). The course was conducted by instructors of the Joint Operational and Tactical Group (Operation “UNIFIER”) of the Armed Forces of Canada in Ukraine.

The presentation ceremony was held by Colonel Alexander Kryachko, Head of the International Center, and from the Canadian side, the commander of the training group of the UNIFIER operation medics, Major Martin Barrett, and the course leader, Master Corporal Trevor Adams.

“I want to thank the soldiers of the Rapid Response Brigade for your attitude to training and professionalism, for your perseverance and perseverance. Let this knowledge be the foundation for your success and pass it on to your brothers,” said Colonel Oleksandr Kryachko, Head of the International Center.

According to Canadian colleagues, the main objective of the course was to provide training and practice in the use of advanced first aid techniques that can be used by non-medical combat personnel in a tactical environment where critical injury has occurred.

“This course is extremely important for the following two reasons. First of all, it is so that you and all your comrades can survive the battle. The second is so that your unit can count on you if help is needed. Your training is at the proper level, but keep developing. I wish you success in completing the tasks,” said Major Martin Barrett, commander of Operation UNIFIER Medical Training Group.

During the test sessions, the participants of the course as part of the groups assisted the simulated wounded in situations suddenly modulated by Canadian instructors. The scenarios were as realistic as possible, because in addition to medical instructors, tactics instructors were involved in the course. They tried to make the guards come to act in different conditions and to get out of different threats. They used locations where assistance was practiced for injuries from improvised explosive devices, bullet wounds, as well as injuries in the premises.

After completing the course, all its participants received certificates of military achievement in tactical assistance to wounded in combat conditions.
