Mariupol Brigade of the National Guard introduced a new commander

The Deputy Head of the Eastern Territorial Department of the National Guard of Ukraine Colonel Serhiy Uniyatov introduced the newly appointed commander of the 12th operational brigade named after Dmitry Vishnevetsky Colonel Denis Shleg to the personnel.

Colonel Serhiy Uniyatov expressed confidence that the personnel of the brigade will continue to perform the most important high-level tasks facing the National Guard of Ukraine and the state today.

“I can describe Denis Alekseevich as a competent, demanding and principled commander who knows how to unite the military team. An officer who has gone through all leadership positions from platoon commander to unit commander. He is a true professional in his field and is committed to protecting the state,” said Colonel Serhiy Uniyatov.

Prior to his appointment as commander of the 12th operational brigade named after Dmitry Vishnevetsky, Colonel Denis Shlega headed the 4th Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine, based in Pavlograd. During his command, the unit received the honorary name “4th Pavlograd Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine” and became the first among the military units for the protection of important state objects to receive an honorary title.

During the period of Russian aggression in the East of the country, Denis Alekseevich repeatedly performed service and combat tasks in the area of the Anti-Terrorist Operation and Operation of the United Forces.

“We have met with you and will continue our service at a very difficult time for our country. But I am sure that together we will fulfill all the tasks that will be assigned to our unit,” said Colonel Denis Shlega during an address to the brigade's personnel.

During the official event, the newly appointed commander also got acquainted with the personnel of the unit, and the presentation ceremony ended with a solemn march of the soldiers of the brigade.
