Today in the center of Lviv there was a celebration of the Day of the National Police of Ukraine, during which the graduates of LvDUV received bachelor's degrees. The young officers will join the ranks of law enforcement officers in 16 areas, where they will work in the units of investigation, criminal police and preventive activities. In total, 169 boys and girls completed their studies at the university this year. Three of them received diplomas with honors.

The celebration of the professional holiday of police officers in Lviv took place on the square in front of the monument to Veliky Kobzarev. Their relatives, friends, as well as residents and guests of the city of Lev came to congratulate the graduates.

The celebrations began with the commemoration of the heroes-defenders of Ukraine with a minute of silence. In addition, flowers were laid at the memorial to the law enforcement officers who died in the performance of official duties and at the monument to Taras Shevchenko.

After that, awards were given to police officers and LvDUVS' graduates from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, National Police, Lviv Regional State Administration, Lviv Regional Council and Lviv City Hall.

The Head of the Department of Operational and Technical Measures of the National Police of Ukraine, Police General of the Third Rank Mikhail Kuznetsov, addressed the graduates with the most sincere congratulations. “From now on, you start an independent life. From today on your shoulders are officers' shoulder straps, which are a symbol of the solidarity of all generations of defenders of our land, their courage and heroism. I believe that you will with dignity bear the title of a graduate of Lviv State University of Internal Affairs, devotedly love your Motherland, defend the law and honestly serve the Ukrainian people,” said Mikhail Kuznetsov.

The head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region, Police Colonel Oleksandr Shlyakhovskyi, congratulated law enforcement officers on a professional holiday: “We had to go through a difficult path: we constantly improved, developed and made our country safer. So I want to congratulate every police officer, wish patience, peace, inspiration and health. Thank you for the work you do on a daily basis, without taking into account personal time.”

Addressing the graduates, the head of the Lviv Regional State Administration Maxim Kozytskyi wished them to justify the trust of the community and be faithful to the Oath. “Let the slogan: “Serve and protect!” will become a life credo for you!”, - the head of LODA wished.

Iryna Hrymak, Chairman of the Lviv Regional Council, also addressed the graduates with a welcoming speech. “I am sure that the knowledge and wisdom that you acquired while studying at your alma mater, the school you went through, will help you serve the Ukrainian people and not think for a minute about whether you have chosen the right profession. I wish that your conscientious work was focused on the security of our community, our state, on its strengthening,” said Irina Hrymak.

Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi wished young officers to be brave and never to be afraid, because fear paralyzes. “If you defend the law and the state, you always have the support of God and the community,” said the mayor of Lviv.

After the greetings addressed to the young officers, there was a solemn presentation of bachelor's degrees to the graduates.

The rector of LvDUV, Police Colonel Roman Blaguta, addressed the participants with a welcoming word. First of all, he read the congratulations to the graduates from the Collegium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. “Your dream of replenishing the ranks of police officers has been successfully realized. From this day begins an interesting and important path of independent life, filled with professional successes and life victories. We hope that the knowledge and skills you have gained during your studies will give you a sense of confidence in serving society and the state,” the College of Internal Affairs said in a greeting.

“It is very important that it is on the Day of the National Police of Ukraine that we hold celebrations and release you, young officers,” said the rector of Lviv DuvS Roman Blaguta. “Handing you shoulder straps, I already said that no higher education institution gives comprehensive knowledge and skills. Our main function is to give you an understanding and awareness of the need for professional growth. When you have a constant thirst for knowledge, you will feel the need to improve as a specialist, you will become professionals in your field.” Top of Form
