The modern laboratory is located on the base of 2 Galician Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. But not only guards of this brigade will be tested here, but also from other military units of the Lviv Oblast National Guard and several units of direct subordination stationed in the western part of Ukraine.

“The creation of such laboratories is already a requirement of modernity,” says Lieutenant Colonel Halyna Trofymenko, the head of the medical service of the brigade. “The whole world, since the discovery of the COVID-19 virus, is learning to live in a new way. That is why the creation of such laboratories is one of the important issues for the National Guard of Ukraine.

The laboratory for immunoassay for COVID-19 is equipped with a set of analyzers for the examination. By the method of enzyme immunoassay, it is possible to detect the presence of antibodies to the virus, or to find out whether a person is in the stage of the disease or is an asymptomatic carrier.

“During the day we can conduct more than half a hundred tests,” says the head of the laboratory, Ensign Lesya Pylypiuk. “In the morning we take blood sampling and after lunch we have the results in our hands. All categories of military personnel are tested, without exception. Each National Guardsman will be tested by the ELISA method every thirty days.”

Recall that in December of last year, the National Guard of Ukraine purchased equipment for conducting ELISA testing of personnel of the NGU for COVID-19 in the laboratories of medical stations of military units 3066 (m. Kyiv), 3014 (m. Odessa), 3002 (m. Lviv), 3017 (m. Kharkiv), 3036 (m. Dnipro), 3027 (m. Vyshgorod).
