The results of an international project implemented to improve the level of professional skills of Volyn rescuers were presented in Lutsk
On June 3, Lutsk hosted a presentation of a modern Training and Practical Center and a training complex on the training of personnel of the fire and rescue units of Service 101 of the Volyn region, as well as other results achieved within the framework of the International Technical Assistance Project “Effective Coordination of Rescue Measures in the Ostroleck-Seddek sub-region and the Volyn region” (hereinafter referred to as the Project), co-financed by the European Union under the Cross-Border Cooperation Programme “Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2014-2020”.
The training complex of the European model includes an obstacle course (labyrinth) with simulators and a special computer remote, which together simulate the conditions of a real fire. In the maze, you can change the configuration with metal grilles, create smoke, sounds characteristic of accidents and fires, people's cries for help are reproduced. In the maze there are hatches, pipes, windows. The movement of the rescuer during the training is tracked by infrared cameras and thanks to sensors placed in the slabs on the floor of the maze. The area of the complex is about 250 square meters. The cost of the maze and equipment is more than 4 million UAH.
For journalists and guests of honor, as well as the heads of all fire and rescue units of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service in the Volyn region, the procedure for passing the training was demonstrated.
Within the framework of the Project, effective measures have been carried out to increase the level of preparedness of the fire and rescue service of the Volyn region to respond to fires, emergencies of man-made and natural nature, as well as to improve the interaction between fire and rescue units of the Volyn region and the Masovian Voivodeship of Poland Shishy.
In particular, for Volyn rescuers were purchased:
- 60 modern compressed air machines of the company “Drager” and 240 masks for them for all rescuers of units of the regional center (worth more than 2.5 million UAH),
- 2 units of special equipment (fire tanker and gas smoke protection service vehicle worth more than 6.5 million UAH),
- Control and measuring device for maintenance of breathing apparatus, panoramic masks for them and chemical protection suits (cost more than 200 thousand UAH),
- 11 powerful compressors (worth more than UAH 3 million) to quickly fill the cylinders of protective devices with air, which rescuers need to work in a smoky environment,
- interactive simulator and 2 special mannequins for training rescuers on the procedure for providing resuscitation measures to the victim (total cost more than 250 thousand UAH)
The project is implemented with the support of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, in close cooperation with the Volyn Regional Administration.
Project Partners: Main Department of the State Emergency Service in Volyn Oblast (Region), Municipality of Siedlce of the Masovian Voivodeship of the Republic of Poland (Main partner), Siedlce City Department of the State Fire Service of the Republic of Poland, Gmina Korchiev of the Masovian Voivodeship Republic of Poland.
The budget of the Project for the Ukrainian side is more than 700 thousand euros.
