In Kyiv, the police exposed one of the heads of the structural unit of trade unions of Ukraine in extorting a million hryvnias bribe
The defendant claimed illegal benefits for the transfer of a sanatorium located on the territory of the Dnipropetrovsk region for rent.
Today, August 31, the deputy chairman of the board of the structural unit of trade unions of Ukraine, which includes medical and health institutions, was detained by the operatives of the Strategic Investigations Department in the city of Kyiv with law enforcement colleagues. The man received another “tranche” in the amount of 300 thousand UAH from a representative of the commercial structure. Earlier, the fact of receiving another 200 thousand UAH was documented.
In total, the defendant demanded one million hryvnias of ill-gotten gains. For this amount, he promised to “resolve the issue” regarding the conclusion of the lease agreement of the sanatorium with its subsequent purchase.
Investigative actions are being carried out. The offender was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The issue of notifying him of suspicion under Part 4 of Art. 368-3 (bribery of an official of a legal entity of private law, regardless of the organizational and legal form) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is resolved.
Pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings is carried out by investigators of the Podolsk District Directorate of the Kyiv Police under the procedural leadership of the Podolsk District Prosecutor's Office.
For what he has done, he may face punishment - imprisonment for a term of three to seven years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years, with confiscation of property.
