DDUVS summed up the results of the VII International Student Summit

For the seventh year in a row, Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs and NGO “Association of Ukrainian Lawyers” continue the common scientific tradition of holding the International Student Summit “Human Rights in the Context of Modern Globalization Challenges”.

On May 25-26, the summit again brought together applicants of higher legal education from all over Ukraine and foreign countries in discussing their scientific achievements. This year the event is dedicated to a special date — the 55th anniversary of the foundation of the Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs.

The main purpose of the scientific event is to increase the positive image of the legal profession in Ukraine; participation in the formation of the creative generation of young scientists and practitioners in the field of law; improvement of knowledge of higher education applicants on topical issues of modern processes of state formation, law making and law enforcement; stimulation to creative self-improvement of student milk di.

The rector of DDUVS Police Colonel Andriy Fomenko congratulated the participants and opened the event.

“For 55 years, we have created a glorious history, traditions, we have significant achievements and scientific potential to successfully solve promising problems in the field of higher education and science. The International Student Summit is one of them. It is no coincidence that the theme of the scientific event is “Human Rights in the Context of Modern Globalization Challenges”. Its relevance is not in doubt, because effective solution of problems related to the protection of human rights in modern society requires discussion, exchange of experience and development of joint strategies of activity at the interstate level,” Andriy Yevhenovych noted.

President of the NGO “Association of Ukrainian Lawyers”, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, Academician of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine Vasyl Kostitsky, as co-founder of the competition, wished the participants fruitful work, interesting questions and new scientific ideas.

People's Deputy of Ukraine Vyacheslav Medianyk, Professor of the Academy of Law Enforcement at the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan Saule Saparalieva, Professor of Matej Bel University, Doctor of Legal Sciences (Slovakia) Lubik Saktarova, Assistant Professor of Georgian Technical University Georgy Svianadze, Chairman of the Third Administrative Court of Appeal Anatoly Korshun, Chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk District Administrative Court Andriy Korenev, Coordinator of the Regional Council of Reforms in the Field of Justice European project Union “Pravo-Justice” Alexey Savchuk and others.

In 2021, among the submitted scientific projects from the leading institutions of higher education of Ukraine and foreign countries, 19 of the best were selected. The competition is attended by 39 participants from such leading higher education institutions of Ukraine and the world as: Academy of Law Enforcement Bodies under the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Republic of Kazakhstan), University of Augsburg (Germany), Academy of State Penitentiary Service (Moscow). Chernihiv), Academy of Advocacy of Ukraine (m. Kyiv), Kharkiv National University named after V.N. Karazin (m. Kharkiv), National University “Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic” (m. Zaporizhia), Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (m. Kyiv), Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs (m. Dnipro), Kherson State University (m. Kherson), Lviv State University of Internal Affairs (m. Lviv), Kyiv Faculty of the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine (m. Kyiv), National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky (m. Khmelnytskyi), National Academy of Security Service of Ukraine (m. Kyiv), Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenka (m. Sumy), National Academy of Internal Affairs (m. Kyiv), Odessa National Maritime University (m. Odessa), etc.

Among the topics of the scientific event discussed by the participants: legal problems of forming and implementing the internal and foreign policy of the state; rule of law as the basis of the system of European values and law order; protection of human rights in conditions related to the spread of COVID-19: domestic and foreign experience; counteraction to gender violence, domestic violence, trafficking in human beings and slavery, etc.

The expert jury of the summit evaluated the scientific projects of the participants: Nalyvaiko Larysa, Vice-Rector of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs, Doctor of Internal Affairs, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine; Kostitsky Vasil, President of the NGO “Association of Ukrainian Lawyers”, Professor Caras Department of Theory of Law and State of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, Full Member (Academician) of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine; Saparalieva Saul, Director of the Institute of Postgraduate Education Demia law enforcement agencies under the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Saktarova Lubika, Deputy Dean for International Relations and Development of the Faculty of Law of Matej Bel University, Doctor of Law (Slovakia); Medianyk Vyacheslav, People's Deputy of Ukraine, Candidate of Political Sciences; Ilkov Vasyl, Judge of the Dnipropetrovsk District Administrative Court, Doctor of Law, Professor; Savchuk Oleksii, Coordinator of the Regional Council of Justice Reforms of the European Union Project “Pravo-Justice”, lawyer, managing partner of the adjunct of the Vokata Association” Assyria”, Chairman of the union “UA.Legal”; Hrytsai Irina, Assistant Rector of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs on Gender Issues, Doctor of Internal Affairs, Professor; Georgy Svianadze, Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Law and International Relations of the Georgian Technical University University; Tyahlo Natalia, Director of the Dnipropetrovsk Department of the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; Savishchenko Viktoriia, Dean of the Faculty of Law of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs, Doctor of Science, Associate Professor.

Traditionally, within the framework of the summit, leading experts in the field of jurisprudence conduct master classes on various topical thematic directions within the general theme of the event. This year, the actual problems of legal theory and practice were presented to the participants by Vasyl Kostitsky, Professor of the Department of Theory of Law and State of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv; Vasily Ilkov, Judge of Dnipropetrovsk District Administrative Court; Oleksiy Savchuk Coordinator of the Regional Council of Justice Reforms of the European Union Justice Project.

According to the results of the evaluation of the work of the teams by the expert jury, the prize places are distributed as follows:

First degree diploma: Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs, LLC “Academy of Advocacy of Ukraine”, Kharkiv National University named after V.N. Karazin.

Second degree diploma: National Academy of Internal Affairs, Lviv State University of Internal Affairs, Academy of State Penitentiary Service, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

Diploma of III degree: Kyiv Faculty of the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine, Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko, Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies under the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Republic of Kazakhstan), National University “Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic”, Kherson State University.

Special honors were awarded to the teams of the University of Augsburg (Germany) — “For Contribution to Ensuring Humanism and Human Dignity”; Academy of Law Enforcement Bodies under the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan — “For Contribution to Strengthening the Rule of Law”; National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine named after Bom Hdan Khmelnytskyi — “For Contribution to Raising Legal Awareness of Citizens”; National Academy of Security Service of Ukraine — “For Contribution to Strengthening Information Security”; Odessa National Maritime University — “Gender Initiative — 2021”; University of Augsburg — “For Contribution to the Establishment of Democracy”.
