Ukraine became the first non-EU country to chair the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region. Ukraine's bid for the presidency was supported by all 13 countries participating in the Strategy, nine of which are EU members. Minister of Development of Communities and Territories Oleksiy Chernyshov called on the members of the Coordination Center to take advantage of this opportunity not only to support the international image of our state, but also to form an idea of Ukraine as a reliable partner and strong support for the foreign policy course on integration with the EU.

Tetiana Kovalchuk informed the participants about the participation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the activities of the Steering Group of Priority Area 11 of the EU Strategy. In particular, participation in the 19th coordination meeting of PN 11 in video conference mode was ensured, during which readiness to hold one of the next coordination meetings in Ukraine was confirmed. In addition, on April 28, a meeting of the working group on administrative processes within the framework of cooperation of priority areas 1a “Inland Shipping” and 11 “Security” was attended, during which the next steps of implementation of the project on simplification and unification of control procedures along the Danube River were discussed.

On April 21 of this year, the Ministry of Internal Affairs arranged and conducted an expert meeting in the format of the videoconference “Hybrid threats: definition of understanding, counteraction in the context of the ECHR: national experience and regional approach”, which was attended by more than 30 representatives of the security sector from 9 ESDR member countries, as well as a representative of the European Centre of Excellence in Countering Hybrid Threats (Finland).

The Deputy Minister assured the members of the Coordination Center that they are ready to actively participate in the implementation of the agreements reached within our priority, as well as the national chairmanship program.

According to the results of the meeting, the members of the Coordination Center approved the Program of the Presidency of Ukraine in the EU Strategy for the Danube Region in the period from November 1, 2021 to October 31, 2022, as well as the Plan of Events of the Ukrainian Presidency.
