The capital's special forces detained a man who held a woman hostage

The intruder broke into the apartment and began to threaten the owner of the property with a knife. Thanks to professionally conducted negotiations by KORD fighters, the illegal actions of the man were stopped in time. For his actions, he faces up to three years in prison.

Yesterday at about 23:00 the capital's police received a report that a man had entered an apartment on the ninth floor through a window on Liskivska Street, in the Desnyansky district, and was holding its owner hostage. The uniforms of the patrol police, the investigative and operational groups of the territorial and main police departments, as well as special officers of the KORD arrived urgently at the specified address.

Previously, law enforcement officers established that the man broke a window in the apartment and broke inside. Finding a woman in the apartment, he grabbed a knife from the table and began to threaten her. The victim managed to call a friend who called the police.

Arriving at the address, KORD fighters held talks with the attacker, as a result of which he opened the door and released the woman. Psychologists worked with the victim and examined by doctors, and the 68-year-old Kiev citizen was detained by law enforcement officers under the order of art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

According to this fact, the investigators of the Desnian Police Department opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 146 (Illegal Imprisonment or Abduction of a Person) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Police officers prepare a report on suspicion of committing a crime for the defendant. The sanction of the article provides for up to three years in prison.
