Metropolitan police have exposed the “scheme” of appropriation of UAH 34 million allocated by the state for the development of livestock
The operatives of the Strategic Investigations Directorate in Kyiv of the National Police, together with law enforcement colleagues, exposed the illegal activities of a number of commercial structures.
According to the investigation, in 2020, officials of several societies developed a scheme for appropriating state funds allocated for the development of livestock. In order to obtain subsidies, inaccurate information about their receipt of imported equipment for the construction of a processing workshop was entered into official documents. In fact, at the time of submission of documents, the equipment was not delivered to Ukraine and to the enterprise. In addition, it is not set for now. In addition, discrepancies were introduced into the official documents, which, in accordance with the current legislation, are not subject to compensation.
According to this scheme, officials of a number of companies seized UAH 34 million of state funds and caused losses to the state for this amount.
On September 20, the agents and investigators of the Metropolitan Police conducted authorized searches of the places of residence of the defendants and in the office premises of enterprises. They seized financial documentation and cash totaling more than UAH 16 million, which were probably received as a result of the implementation of a criminal scheme.
Criminal proceedings are investigated under Part 4 of Art. 191 (Appropriation, embezzlement of property or possession of it by abuse of official position) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the procedural guidance of which is carried out by the Podolsk District Prosecutor's Office. After carrying out the necessary procedural actions, the issue of notifying the participants of the transaction about the suspicion will be resolved.
