Investigation into the case of the attack of five drunk young men on the house of an ATO veteran will be transferred to the Civil Service of the National Police - Arsen Avakov
This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs, commenting on the incident that occurred in the Ternopil region.
When five drunken young men tried to break into a private house, and its owner, defending himself, fatally wounded one of the attackers.
“I consider it premature and unreasonable to suspect a 24-year-old veteran of ATO who was forced to use cold weapons for self-defense after five attackers came to his home, one of whom later died from his injuries,” Arsen Avakov said. - A person's life is priceless, and no one has the right to encroach on it.”
The Minister of the Interior stressed that the right to self-defense and the protection of one's home, except in the case of exceeding the limits of necessary self-defense, is guaranteed to everyone by the Law. And he added that the investigation of this incident will be transferred to the Main Investigation Department of the National Police.
“The case of the invasion of the territory of the household and the attack of a group of five on an ATO veteran will be transferred to the Main Investigative Office of the National Police Department, and the investigators will apply to the court with a request to change the precautionary measure from round-the-clock house arrest - to a personal obligation, - Arsen Avakov added that “the investigation will be complete, impartial and objective.”
