On May 18, 2018, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine signed a technical agreement with the Ministry of National Defence and the Armed Forces of Canada, which will improve cooperation in the field of military training. The agreement, in particular, provided for the training of personnel, explosives training, medical training, modernization of logistics, professional development and education of officers, as well as language courses and cooperation in the field of strategic communications.

For three years, the staff of the Training Center, together with colleagues from the UNIFIER operation, demonstrated effective cooperation. A program of basic training of regular personnel (PR-1), basic course of leadership (PR-2), chief sergeants of platoons (company) (PR-3) has been created, according to which cadets learn and apply their knowledge in the military units of the National Guard of Ukraine. Also with the support of our friends, programs for training engineering specialists were written and tested: “Sapper. Level 1”, “Sapper. Level 2”, “Sapper. Level 3”, with the help of trained specialists who always go ahead of the first, save the lives of military, civilian and stand in defense of their country, home, family. In order to improve interaction and establish communication, English language courses for guards have been introduced. Thanks to cooperation with the UNIFIER operation on the basis of the Training Center, for the first time in the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs combat medics of platoons are being trained. It is worth noting that in addition to the development of the program, in 2020 an instructor-teaching staff was prepared and a training and material base was created, the funding of which was carried out with the support of our foreign colleagues from Canada and Sweden.

“Thanks to the international support of our friends, we are introducing new training directions in the National Guard of Ukraine, which contribute to our interoperability with NATO. Our long-term cooperation makes our military stronger and contributes to the quality training of servicemen. We thank our colleagues from UNIFIER for their support and comprehensive assistance on the way of our development,” said the head of the Training Center Colonel Mykhailo Kulik.
