First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Serhiy Yarovyi during the All-Ukrainian selection meeting of law enforcement agencies stated that Easter night in Ukraine took place calmly and without disturbances, in particular due to the strong preventive work carried out, as well as the proper coordination of interaction between all departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“At the moment, gross violations of law and quarantine norms during the festive services have not been recorded. Public order, the safety of parishioners and the observance of quarantine restrictions on Easter night were ensured by more than 29,000 law enforcement officers,” the First Deputy Minister noted.

On the night of May 1 to 2, Easter services were held in more than 13,000 churches and temples of Ukraine.

Also Serhiy Yarovyi reminded all units that the Easter holidays are continuing, and ordered to focus special attention on continuing the strengthened mode of service until the complete end of all festive events.

“We should focus on the places of residence of a large number of citizens and the situation on the roads of Ukraine. This is especially true of Odesa region, where events dedicated to the events of May 2, 2014 continue,” the First Deputy Minister noted.
