Border guards detained a man who transported gunpowder to the Russian Federation
Yesterday at the checkpoint “Milove”, in Luhansk region, border guards of the Luhansk detachment found gunpowder. A citizen of Ukraine tried to secretly move him across the state border to the Russian Federation.
During the inspection of the Renault car, following from Ukraine to the Russian Federation, law enforcement officers drew attention to the 39-year-old driver, who was noticeably worried.
Subsequently, during the joint in-depth border and customs inspection of the vehicle, the service dog of the border guards reacted to the boxes standing in the cabin. They contained bottles, as if with toner for refilling printers. However, instead of the promised contents depicted on the labels, law enforcement found more than 22 kg of gunpowder in the vials.
The driver of the dangerous cargo said that he transported the goods at the request of a friend and allegedly did not know that there was a completely different mixture in the bottles.
Border guards sent a message to the competent law enforcement agencies about the detection of signs of a crime provided for in Art. 201 CCU (Smuggling).
Measures to clarify all the circumstances of the case continue.
