Border guards cooperate with international experts on technical equipment of Ukrainian-Russian border
Recently, as part of the cooperation of the State Border Guard Service with the US Department of State under the Export Control and Border Security Program (EXBS), another visit of a group of experts to the section of the Ukrainian-Russian state border took place.
Head of the US EXBS Program in Ukraine Matthew Bouldin and Border Advisor Byron Baget arrived in Sumy region to implement an initiative to improve the protection of the segment of the state border between Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
A briefing with the delegates of the US Embassy in Ukraine was held in the Krasnopillya Border Service Department. Participants considered the results of the implementation of the pilot project “Safe Border” and the implementation of a joint initiative to reduce risks on the Ukrainian-Russian border.
A separate issue was discussed about the introduction into practice of the model of complex protection and protection of certain sections of the state border, in particular, the expediency of arranging the border with video surveillance cameras and means of fixation for its better monitoring was emphasized.
At the end of the visit, the foreign experts noted the positive dynamics of the project implementation, the training and professionalism of the officers of the border units.
Matthew Bouldin and Byron Baget thanked for the meaningful and productive meeting and assured of further assistance in ensuring Ukraine's border security.
For his part, the head of the detachment Mykola Romanchuk also expressed gratitude to the foreign delegation for fruitful cooperation and assistance, which will certainly contribute to improving the protection of the Ukrainian-Russian section of the state border.
