Law enforcers should counteract the influence of corruptors on the formation of the land market - Denis Monastyrsky
This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine today, August 6, during a coordination meeting at the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine.
“In the fight against corruption, I want to draw attention to another extremely important aspect. A real land reform is now underway. The long-awaited land market is being formed. At this stage, we are obliged to prevent the influence of corruptors on this important market segment for the state,” the head of the law enforcement agency stressed.
At the same time, Denis Monastyrsky stressed that the Ministry of Internal Affairs is establishing an effective mechanism of interaction with society in order to eradicate corruption.
“The most effective result of eradicating corruption is the separation of the civil servant who provides public services from the citizen who wants to receive these services. Where it is possible to break this connection, we have the greatest effect. This is the receipt of online services, this is the automatic fixation of traffic violations. This is where, in my opinion, the potential to fight corruption is laid,” the interior minister said.
In turn, the head of the National Police Igor Klymenko noted that during the first half of this year, investigators investigated almost three thousand criminal corruption proceedings. Last year, this figure was just over two thousand.
“Among the corruption attacks, the most committed were in the budgetary sphere - 412, land relations - 78, in the health sector - 66 and in the financial and credit sphere - 47,” the head of the National Police said.
Igor Klymenko stressed that the Verkhovna Rada adopted the Law, according to which crimes related to the declaration of false information and the failure of the subject to submit the declaration are classified as criminal offenses related to corruption.
“According to the results of the measures taken, the National Police has already launched a pre-trial investigation into the facts of committing 45 relevant criminal offenses,” the head of the NPU added.
According to Igor Klymenko, a positive factor in the direction of combating corruption is the fight against its organized forms. Thus, the police documented 55 organized groups and 2 criminal organizations. They consisted of 207 people.
