The police detained two inspectors of the Kyiv regional tax office — they systematically took bribes up to 120 thousand UAH per day
Inspectors demanded illegal benefits from entrepreneurs of Kyiv region. For the money, they promised not to hold the latter accountable for the results of tax audits.
Operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations in the city of Kyiv with law enforcement colleagues uncovered more than 30 episodes of criminal activity of the chief state auditor-inspectors of the Main Department of the State Tax Service in the Kiev region.
Yesterday, July 8, the police detained two tax officials for receiving UAH 10,000 of illegal benefits. During the inspection of the scene, they found and seized more than 120 thousand UAH — the “reward” received by the attackers in one working day.
Investigative actions are currently underway. Pre-trial investigation is carried out by investigators of TU SBI, located in the city. Kyiv, under the procedural guidance of the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Kiev Garrison.
The issue of notifying defendants of suspicions under Part 3 of Article 368 (extortion and receipt by an official of illegal benefits) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is resolved. Other tax employees involved in organizing and obtaining illegal business benefits on an ongoing basis are also established.
