Police officers located persons who damaged photos on the memorial wall in Chernivtsi
Broken portraits of the dead combatants caused outrage among Bukovinians and an active discussion of the incident in the media and social networks. Employees of the Chernivtsi District Police Department promptly clarified all the circumstances of the incident and established that the damage to the photos of Heroes is the result of children's negligence.
On October 30, the police received a report that two portraits of the killed combatants were broken on the Wall of Remembrance of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred and the ATO in Chernivtsi.
Employees of the Chernivtsi District Police Department reviewed the recording of CCTV cameras, carried out a check and established the circumstances of damage to the photos and the persons involved.
In particular, the police found that on October 27 at about 16:30 two boys, aged 12 and 13, were playing with a ball near the Memorial Wall. During the game, one of the guys accidentally hit the ball into the portraits of the Heroes and smashed them.
Police officers conducted preventive conversations with children and their parents. The father of the guy undertook to restore the damaged photos at his own expense.
