Police seized 5 million hryvnias from the illegal circulation of fuel
According to the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police, 228 tons of fuel were seized during the processing of illegal facilities for its production and sale.
During September 15-20, 2021, the police stopped the operation of 38 places of wholesale and retail sale of fuel, which were operating without the appropriate licenses and permits of the regulatory authorities. These are underground mini-factories, gas stations and gas stations, wholesale outlets and so-called points of sale “from wheels”.
Wholesale points of sale, as a rule, were located in garage premises in the territories of industrial zones. Trucks or minibuses were used to sell fuel “from wheels”, in which plastic tanks, pumps and guns were installed. Such re-equipment of vehicles posed a threat not only to the “dealers”, but also to others.
The fuel mixture produced in illegal “factories” was sold through fictitious firms to real enterprises, through underground and official gas stations or through so-called “from wheels” points of sale. To disguise illegal activities, accounting and tax reporting documents were forged or worked without any documents at all.
As a result of the measures, the police seized special equipment worth UAH 1.5 million. Also, 228 tons of fuel worth UAH 5 million were seized from illegal circulation.
For all the facts of illegal activity, criminal proceedings have already been opened. In addition, 19 administrative protocols were drawn up.
Law enforcement officers continue to work out fuel sales facilities to check the legality of their activities. In turn, we appeal to citizens with a request to report on the functioning of underground points of sale of fuel to the special line “102".
Last week, 76 underground gambling establishments were suspended.
Earlier, they reported the detection of a criminal group that manufactured and sold low-quality fuel.
