Police officers in Kyiv have indicted two people for attempting to illegally seize an enterprise with an asset of 40 million hryvnias
The man and woman tried to change the founder and manager of the facility by offering a monetary reward to a private notary. The defendants were informed of the suspicion. From now on, they face up to five years in prison.
Investigators of the Desnyansk Police Department under the procedural guidance of the local district prosecutor's office of the city of Kyiv stopped the illegal seizure of corporate rights of the enterprise. As part of the investigation of criminal proceedings initiated on the attempted illegal seizure of an enterprise with an asset of 40 million hryvnias, law enforcement officers identified the persons involved.
The head of the investigative department of the Desnyansk police department Sergey Mytych said that the offenders illegally tried to change the founder and head of the facility, offering money to a private notary:
“We detained a man and a woman immediately after transferring to the registrar a monetary reward - 20 thousand dollars, which we seized during a search of the office premises. A 56-year-old man and his 58-year-old accomplice were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.”
Under the procedural guidance of the local district prosecutor's office, the investigators of the Desnyansk Police Department informed the defendants of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 2 of Art. 15, Part 2 of Art. 206-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - an attempt to illegally seize property of an enterprise, institution, organization, and part 2 of Art. 368-4 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - bribery of a person who provides public services. Law enforcers sent a petition to the court to choose preventive measures in the form of detention.
Accomplices face imprisonment for a term of three to five years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to two years.
