Odesa region: Suspicion of official negligence that caused significant damage to state interests was announced
The temporary acting head of the health department of one of the city councils of the region signed an agreement with an individual entrepreneur for the supply of medical masks necessary to prevent the occurrence and spread of coronavirus disease at an inflated price, without checking the market value of the goods.
Due to the unfair attitude of the official to the performance of his official duties, the health department paid the entrepreneur budget funds in the amount of 380 000 hryvnia, which is 141 200 hryvnia higher than the real value of the purchased goods.
According to the results of the pre-trial investigation, which was conducted by investigators of the police department No. 2 of the Odessa regional police department together with SBU employees under the procedural guidance of the Black Sea District Prosecutor's Office, the woman was declared a suspect under Part 1 of Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sent the indictment to the court.
In accordance with the current legislation, the offender faces punishment in the form of a fine of two thousand to four thousand non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens or correctional work for up to two years, or restriction of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years.
