The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Police of Ukraine are constantly working to strengthen their capabilities in preventing and countering domestic violence.

Previously, 45 domestic violence response groups worked in Ukraine. From now on, in order to prevent and even more effectively combat domestic violence, the number has been increased to 55.

Such mobile groups were added in Dnipro, also - in cities where they had not previously functioned - in Izmail (Odessa region), Krivoy Rog (Dnipropetrovsk region), Korosten (Zhytomyr region), Gaysin (Vinnytsia region), Alexandria (Kirovohrad region), Irpen (Kiev region) region), Stryi (Lviv region), Kremenchug (Poltava region) and Kamianets-Podilskyi (Khmelnytsky region).

These mobile groups specialize in responding promptly to the facts of domestic violence. Employees have the authority to take appropriate measures against violators, in particular, to draw up protocols on administrative offenses, put on preventive records of the police, issue urgent prohibitory orders, etc. Police officers who are part of the response teams have undergone appropriate training.

The National Police of Ukraine plans to continue to increase the number of such groups.
