This was announced by the head of the National Police of Ukraine today, January 12, during a live broadcast on the TV channel “Rada”.

According to the head of the National Police Igor Klymenko, the leasing program is the basic and one of the most successful in the issue of social security for police officers and their families.

“We bought a thousand apartments in 2020. This is an incentive, a motivation to keep in the service of each police officer. For example, the city of Kiev: 80 percent of police officers are those who came from other regions or from the Kiev region. They rent hostels, apartments. And we are talking here about the ability of every young person, and the average age in the National Police is 35 years, to provide for their basic needs. There are not enough funds for housing out of 12-13 thousand salaries,” Ihor Klymenko noted.

And despite the fact that in 2021 the leasing program did not work, the National Police expect it to be extended this year.

“We expect that in March-April this year the leasing program will continue to function, and the financial leasing institution will receive from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine the appropriate funds for the purchase of apartments. The National Police is ready to receive functionally these apartments through a leasing institution,” the head of the National Police said.

At the same time, Igor Klymenko added that in 2022 alone, the National Police allocated more than 130 million hryvnias for servicing lease payments in 2020. Also, another 50 million hryvnias have already been allocated in the budget for servicing future lease payments in 2022.
