The North Atlantic Alliance reaffirms the decision, taken at the 2008 Bucharest Summit, that Ukraine will become a member of the Alliance with a Membership Action Plan (FPA) as an integral part of the process. This wording was recorded in a document yesterday, June 14, during the summit in Brussels.

It should be emphasized that the document emphasizes the importance of implementing reforms and their further implementation in the security sphere. The Alliance praised the key and large-scale reforms already carried out in Ukraine. In turn, they promised comprehensive support and assistance in implementing the implementation of NATO principles and standards in the state.

Ukraine will not be considered a real candidate for membership in the absence of serious progress in all areas. It is about the fight against corruption, good governance, transparency, respect for human rights, the rule of law. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine clearly defines the need for further development of the organs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in accordance with the best practices of NATO member countries.

The Euro-Atlantic course is a priority direction in which maximum effort has been made. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine actively participates in the implementation of the key systemic strategic planning document — the Annual National Program under the auspices of Ukraine — NATO. According to statistics, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system were the executors and co-executors of almost 50% of all planned activities in 2020.
