National Police checks all reports of mining — Igor Klymenko
This was announced today, January 12, by the head of the National Police of Ukraine Igor Klymenko on the Rada TV channel.
“We are now finding out who is making false calls about mining. During the last New Year holidays alone, we received 132 such messages. 9 attackers were detained in 9 regions of the state, in particular in large cities - Kiev, Dnipro, Odessa. The offenders had different motives for committing the crime. Some persons were in a state of alcoholic intoxication,” Igor Klymenko said.
The head of the National Police noted that some of the reports about the threat to the safety of citizens come from the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Also, Igor Klymenko stressed that the National Police will respond to every report of mining.
“We look at every challenge. Significant forces of the National Police are involved in checking reports of mining. The safety of citizens for us is in the first place! Explosive engineering services and canine units of NPU are on duty around the clock and promptly respond to all calls about mining,” the head of the NPU informed.
In turn, the head of the National Police appealed to school leaders, business entities to make the premises safer, namely, to install video surveillance cameras.
“Where there is constant observation and control, it is easier for us to respond to such challenges,” Igor Klymenko said.
Also, the head of the National Police stressed that according to Article 259 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, for this type of crime, punishment in the form of imprisonment for a period of 2 to 6 years is provided. The same act, if it has caused serious consequences or is committed repeatedly, is punishable by imprisonment for a term of 4 to 8 years.
