The National Guard and the State Emergency Service conducted fire and tactical exercises in Kharkiv
Joint fire and tactical exercises of the 5th Slobozhanska Brigade of the NGU together with the representatives of the State Emergency Service took place in the building of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.
The main purpose of the exercises is to work out the coherence of the actions of the personnel of the National Guard and the administration of the executive authority regarding the organization of alert and evacuation of employees and personnel of the state institution in the event of an emergency situation.
According to the legend of the exercises, unknown young men committed provocative actions and set fire to the entrance door and foyer of the regional administration using a container with a combustible mixture. The Guardsmen demonstrated a consistent course of action in the event of an extreme situation and called a unit of the State Emergency Service. Rescuers exchanged experience with the guards and told about the features of extinguishing fire in buildings.
“The building of the regional administration belongs to facilities with a mass of people, so in the event of a fire or other emergency, especially in the daytime, there may be a real threat to the life and health of citizens. The soldiers guarding the building have a great responsibility, because it is they who carry out the priority response measures,” said Lieutenant Colonel Oleh Kovtunov, the head of the fire safety service of the 5th Slobozhanska Brigade.
