New local fire brigade launched in Khmelnytskyi region

On November 22, in the Khmelnytsky region, in the village of Vlashanovka, Shepetivsky district, there was a solemn opening of a new local fire brigade. The unit will fight fires in 23 settlements of the Sakhnovtsy territorial community and guarantee safety for more than 5 thousand of its inhabitants.

For the successful performance of their duties, the team is provided with proper protective clothing and equipment, it has all the necessary conditions for service: a part communication point, a rest room and a spacious garage for rescue equipment and equipment. Newly trained firefighters have a fire truck, a motor pump and a special tool, as well as a tractor with a plow, which will make it possible to quickly fight forest fires. In total, more than 800 thousand hryvnias from the local budget of the community have been developed for the creation of the IPC unit.

If necessary, local firefighters will also be assisted by volunteers trained in the basics of fire and rescue within the framework of the project “Improving the Civil Protection System in the United Territorial Communities of Ukraine”.

Congratulating the community on the opening of the newly created rescue unit, Adviser to the Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Roman Primush thanked the community and district leadership for the principled position on ensuring the safety of citizens and stressed that within the framework of decentralization this is the only true direction to improve the civil protection system in rural areas.

It should be noted that since the beginning of the year in the region, units of local fire brigades have eliminated 224 fires, saved more than one human life and significant material values.
