In Khmelnytskyi region, the hunter who killed the red-book moose will stand trial

Recall, the event occurred on March 13 of this year in hunting grounds near the village. Red Blossom in Shepetivsky district. The hunting expert of the Shepetivsky forestry came to the police with a report that in the lands he found traces of blood and wool, similar to a leotard.

Traces of the goose underpass, on which the carcass of the animal was taken, led law enforcement officers to the farm of a 38-year-old local resident, where the carcass was being developed.

In the framework of criminal proceedings opened under Part 1 of Art. 248 (Illegal hunting) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, investigators conducted an authorized search in the man's household and in the surrounding territory, during which they found and seized the meat of the animal, the remains of a killed moose, a hunting rifle and ammunition.

Recall that the European elk is listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. The damage caused to nature, experts estimated at 130 thousand hryvnias.

At the moment, the indictment in relation to the thought has been sent to the Shepetivsky City District Court. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of a fine of up to 51 thousand hryvnias, public works or restriction of liberty for a period of up to three years.
