In Odessa region, the head of one of the branches of the territorial center of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine was exposed to a bribe of $6,000
The man set up a scheme to extort and obtain illegal benefits from citizens for help in avoiding conscription into the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Operatives of the Directorate of Strategic Investigations in the Odessa region together with the investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the National Police under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the military and defense sphere of the Office of the Prosecutor General have exposed the head of one of the departments of the territorial center of the Ministry of Defense.
Today, April 12, the defendant was detained immediately after receiving $6,000 as a second part of the agreed amount of ill-gotten gains. Previously, law enforcement officers documented the fact that the attacker received another 500 US dollars - the first part of the agreed amount of illegal profit. The total amount of funds received is 6500 US dollars.
The defendant was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The issue of notification to the detainee of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 368 (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is
resolved.
