In Lviv region, the project “Community Police Officer” will work in four more communities
Today, December 31, the Head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Oblast, Police General of the Third Rank Oleksandr Shlyakhovskyi within the framework of the “Community Police Officer” project signed memoranda of cooperation with the heads of Lviv, Stryi, Pustomyty and Turku territorial communities.
“Today we have taken another step in the implementation of this extremely important project. The heads of territorial communities of Lviv region have made a decision and received an effective mechanism of organization for residents of the safe space, where the community police officer, who will always be on the spot, on the territory of the community, among the people, will maintain law order and ensure legality,” said the head of the police of Lviv region.
Local authorities will purchase half of the total required number of cars, equip police stations, make them comfortable and as accessible as possible for each resident. Police officers of the community will receive the rest of the vehicles and technical equipment from the National Police of Ukraine.
The main goal of the “Community Police Officer” project is to provide each territorial community with a police officer who will provide residents with quality police services, ensure daily law and order in the service area, respond to community problems in a timely manner and prevent the commission of crimes. The project is implemented to implement the principle of interaction between police and communities on the basis of partnership, and the residents themselves will evaluate the work of law enforcement officers.
On November 15, the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Oblast announced another competition for 30 positions of community police officers. The contestants have already passed the first stage of selection — testing general and special skills and preparing for interviews.
