In Kyiv region, engineers of the National Guard improve their professional skills
At the International Center of NGU, in the Kiev region in the village of Stare, there is a course of collective training of specialists in engineering military-accounting specialties, conducted by the Training Center for the Training of Units. It is attended by servicemen of military units of the Southern OTO.
The classes also use engineering equipment and special equipment.
The guards as part of the detachment master the explosive case, the installation of engineering barriers and minefields, the camouflage of the fortification equipment of the platoon stronghold and the passage through various obstacles. The focus is on the actions of servicemen as part of the unit. Classes are held, both during the day and at night, and are as close as possible to combat conditions.
“The training of specialists in engineering military accounting specialties takes place in the department and its peculiarity is that each of the servicemen must learn to clearly know and perform their tasks, because, as they say, the sapper makes mistakes only once. It is necessary to eliminate risks as much as possible and to carry out engineering support of the tasks assigned to the unit,” said Major Igor Barnyak, head of the course of collective training, during the classes.
After passing each stage of training, the guard sappers take tests, and at the end of the course, tactical and special training of the consolidated unit will take place. In addition, during the training, servicemen have the opportunity to exchange experience gained during their participation in the Joint Forces.
For reference: The program of the training course of collective training of specialists in engineering military-accounting specialties was created by specialists of the engineering service of the International Center of the National Guard according to the system of training engineering units of the Armed Forces of NATO member states and partners. It is based on the mine safety course “ETNAR”, which was conducted by the engineers of Operation “UNIFIER” of the Canadian Armed Forces in Ukraine. The program was approved at the International Center of NGU at the end of last year.
