Rescuers arrived in Donetsk region, who will be involved in reconstruction work in frontline settlements
On April 1, the next stage of restoration work of housing that was damaged as a result of hostilities begins in Donetsk region. Over the past year, thanks to the cooperation of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the Donetsk Regional State Administration, it was possible to restore more than 1000 houses in front-line settlements. Hundreds of families were able to return to their homes.
This year, rescuers from all over Ukraine will continue to carry out restoration work. Rescuers from Rivne region, Cherkasy region, Kherson region, Mykolaiv region, Kharkiv region and Lviv region arrived today in Donetsk region. They face a difficult, but important task - to help residents of front-line settlements to restore damaged housing. Rescuers will cover roofs, restore walls, as well as glazing windows. Currently, hundreds of houses remain in Donetsk region, which have suffered significant damage as a result of enemy shelling. Not all residents are able to repair their homes on their own. That is why for many years rescuers have been involved in restoration work, even though they have to work in difficult conditions and risk their own lives every day.
Colleagues from other regions were met by representatives of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Donetsk region. They familiarized rescuers with the peculiarities of working in front-line settlements, checked whether all emergency personnel were equipped with personal protective equipment, and thanked them for daring to go to the area of the PLO to provide assistance to citizens.
So, as early as tomorrow, 150 personnel of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, including rescuers from Donetsk region, will begin restoration work in the area of the operation of the joint forces.
